KEENUMBERS

Privacy

Short and plain: we collect as little as possible, especially about kids.

Draft: This is a placeholder privacy summary, not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified professional and update it before collecting any real data (payments, analytics) and confirm Beehiiv details (data location, sub-processors, double opt-in settings) in your Beehiiv account.

The Grade-Level Check stays in your browser

The quiz runs entirely on your device. We don't ask for your child's name, age, school, or email. Answers are not sent to a server, saved in cookies or local storage, or shared with anyone. When you close or refresh the page, they're gone.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

KEENUMBERS is designed for parents and guardians, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Children should use the Grade-Level Check with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

What we do collect

  • Newsletter email: your email address, only if you sign up. Signups and emails are handled by Beehiiv, our newsletter provider, which stores your email address and sends the newsletter. You can sign up with the form on the home page or directly at our Beehiiv subscribe page. Please use a parent or guardian's email, never a child's.
  • Payments (when connected): handled by Stripe. We don't see or store card numbers. TODO: confirm once Stripe is set up.
  • Contact messages: whatever you choose to send us, used only to reply.
  • Analytics and third-party scripts: we run no analytics of our own. On the home page only (where the signup form is) we load Beehiiv's subscribe form and Beehiiv's attribution script, which helps record which link or campaign a subscriber came from. Beehiiv's form is displayed from Beehiiv's servers, and in our testing it also loads additional services that Beehiiv chooses (for example tag management, bot protection, and web fonts), which we don't control. See Beehiiv's privacy policy. If you'd rather avoid them, use the direct subscribe link above. The Grade-Level Check, Decoder, pricing, About, Contact and Privacy pages load no third-party scripts. TODO: if we add analytics later, we'll say so here.
